An invigorating driving experience means the B-Class is sure to set pulses racing, but it is equally adept at calming the mind with enviable ride comfort. And not only does the new Mercedes burn relatively little fuel, thanks to an additional catalytic converter it does so in environment-friendly fashion. When it comes to pulling power, the Compact Sports Tourer lives up to its title, with the range-topping B 200 TURBO developing 142 kW (193 hp) and 280 Nm of torque. The engineers' brief in the development of the B-Class was not only to ensure comfort and a totally new feeling of space for the passengers, but also to lay on ample room for luggage. The B-Class offers as much as 2245 litres of load compartment capacity, equating to around 18 fully laden shopping trolleys.
